STAT-USA is an agency in the Economics and Statistics Administration within the U.S. Department of Commerce. However, we exist on a revolving fund, which means that taxpayer dollars do not fund our office or any of the services we provide. This makes it necessary for STAT-USA to charge for our services, as is explained here.

To remain competitive in the ever-expanding world of online information, periodically we have to increase the subscription costs of our services. These increases allow STAT-USA to continue to upgrade our online products to provide customers with faster and more complex searches, as well as improved customer service.
